01 July 2008: Invest NI launch Innovation Vouchers Initiative

The Innovation Voucher Initiative is a fund which Northern Ireland registered small companies can apply to, to enable them to access expertise from participating Knowledge Providers(universities, further education colleges or publically funded research bodies) in Northern Ireland (NI) and the Republic of Ireland (ROI).

The Innovation Voucher has a sterling equivalent value of 5000 Euro, approximately £4000 at todays exchange rate.

This initiative which is jointly administered by Invest NI and Enterprise Ireland will open its next call for NI applications on 1 September 2008. The initiative is open to all registered small enterprises (companies with fewer than 50 employees and less than 10 Million Euro annual turnover) who can use Knowledge Providers to solve problems through the introduction of innovation to their business.

The vouchers can be used for knowledge transfer between your business and the Knowledge Providers in respect of a knowledge problems to deliver an innovative solution. Participation in the Innovation Vouchers Initiative will enable your business to establish and build links with Northern Ireland's public Knowledge Providers, and create a cultural shift in the small business community's approach to innovation.
